Random things
Stuff I found entertaining.

At lunch today I mentioned that could remember very few specific things about the original Battlestar Galactica, except for:
Episode 12 of Battlestar Galactica featured Lloyd Bridges as the commander of the Battlestar Pegasus.
Episode 15 had the ships that moved faster than anything the humans had ever seen.
As a bonus fact, the show featured
Anne Lockhart!
An interview with the creator of
Scorched Earth.

Work is something designed to destroy the souls of workers. On the other hand, if you go to college,
Big Brother will be watching to destroy your privacy.

I just watched
Where Eagles Dare, which came out in 1968. I want to point out that Clint Eastwood's character,
Lt. Schaffer, is the Terminator in this movie. When adjusted for inflation, his body
count rivals anything from the 80s and 90s. He easily matches Schwarzenegger or Stallone, and probably could have reached the lofty peak of Chow Yun Fat in
Hard Boiled if the movie had lasted a few more minutes.
I also must note that
Mary Ure was hot.
One last thought, where have I heard "Broadsword calling Danny Boy" before?
Star Trek ExperienceI'm hoping to go there in May. I think I will order a Liquid Latinum (Spiced Rum, Melon Liqueur, Alize Red Passion Liqueur, and Blue Curacao) just because the name is cool.

World income distributionBasically, Americans get paid better than everyone. Why then do I feel so poor?

I found this on a City of Heroes message board, and liked it. It's not funny, but it is true:
"Scrappers often go into what's known as scrapper lock. They just keep killing until nothing is moving anymore."
This leads to problems like the other day, when I charged a room full of bad guys by myself. I would have bet money that everyone else on the team was right behind me. I have no cool pictures of this event, but the end result was me staring face down at the floor.

McClellan lies about Bush's "pull the plug" lawWhat a hypocrite. "Save" one person in Florida for good publicity, but kill as many as you can in Texas.
To clarify: the law this is talking about allows doctors to remove patients from life support WITHOUT the consent of the family. So if Schiavo had been in Texas instead of Florida, she would have been gone long ago.
Napoleon Dynamite is an odd movie. However, I liked it. The best
quotes:
"Pedro offers you his protection. "
"Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter."
"You know, there's like a butt-load of gangs at this school. This one gang kept wanting me to join because I'm pretty good with a bo staff. "
"I see you're drinking 1%. Is that 'cause you think you're fat? 'Cause you're not. You could be drinking whole if you wanted to."

Wrestlemania 21 trailersUnfortunately they only seem to work in IE. However, some of them are actually entertaining. I recommend the Basic Instinct one and the Braveheart one, although they all have moments of coolness.

Malawi's President Flees Haunted MansionI'll be honest, I didn't know where
Malawi was until I looked it up.

Cricket is fascinating. So much like
baseball, yet so very very weird.
The wisdom of my sister
About her students:
"you should be
discriminated against for your ignorance...you should
be in a separate, "special" class for dumbasses."
About Roxboro:
"Roxboro deserves an atomic bomb."
Tune in next time for more insight from the world's most dangerous sister.

Droopy should wear this
shirt.
I am a Japanese School Teacher
Travis sent this funny site. Here are some of the better, although out of context, parts:
"I caught him...I restrained him with my left hand, dropped to one knee, put my right hand back as far as I could, said "One thousand years of pain!!" in the over-blown anime style and everything, and prepared to kancho him straight to Hell. The boy was freaked out. I think tears were even streaming down his face. I don't blame him. In retrospect, I can't even imagine - you're a 12 year old Japanese boy being forcibly restrained by a large black man who is bound and determined to penetrate your ass. I would have been crying too."
"Haha, I have already won this fight. I shall now show you the awesome power of my Gaijin Smash. I acquired this attack when I was born having a bigger body than you. Over the years, I developed it by keeping up a steady diet of McDonalds, and parking in the closest spaces to wherever I went. It is the perfect attack."

Has anyone else heard of
numbers stations? Is anyone else slightly freaked out by them?
I went to Raw last night, and I must publicly thank Mike for getting such awesome tickets. We were about a foot above the ring, straight up the aisle from the ring barrier. Therefore, we had a great view unless people held up signs. As a side effect, we were on camera a lot. Hopefully there will be some vanity screen captures later, but right now i'm just very sleepy. It was fun overall, even if it isn't as
good as it used to
be.

I think I have linked to this site before, but I think this banner is cool.

The important things from that website:
If you
MUST smash through a barrier or obstacle in a vehicle, do it in reverse. You are less likely to cause damage to the engine if you smash through debris backwards.
And never forget... "A handgun is just a tool we use to fight our way to a shotgun or rifle!"

In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can
find them, maybe you can hire the
A-Team.

Old but cool site about
invisibility. It has lots of cool looking movies, although it seems a little on the fake side. Still cool looking, though.
Especially
this movie, and
this one.
